It’s Teagan’s Birthday!
March started out with Emma’s birthday, which you can read about that in the last blog I posted. Now it’s Teagan’s turn! He turned 10 on March 27th. We, of course, did a weekend adventure for him as well. Our family actually celebrated birthdays for Teagan, Peyton and Josey all in the same weekend. So we left our home in the woods, again a limo ride for the whole crew, on March 20th. Our heading… Springfield, MO.
Our family of 19 started the trip off by stopping off at Enterprise Park Lanes to pick up bowling balls for Peyton and his little brother Conner. The guys there did a great job fitting the boys’ finger grips for their new balls. They had them fitted, drilled and finger grips installed in good time.
Our next stop was Texas Roadhouse, per Peyton’s request for his birthday dinner outing. The service was excellent! Our server was beyond kind and courteous. She had the whole table laughing at one point. The food was on point and cooked to perfection. Best part, we didn’t have a ridiculously long wait time for a table or food. The family left there full and happy.
We headed to the hotel for the night to get plenty of sleep for our adventure, the next day. The kids started their day by swimming in the hotel pool. After swimming, we all went back to our rooms and got ready for the day. We met up in one of our four hotel rooms so Teagan and Peyton could open their birthday presents. Teagan was overjoyed with his gifts of games, a sword necklace, as well as Marvel and Star Wars action figures. Peyton was elated with his gifts of games, clothes and baseball stuff. Unfortunately, we weren’t aware until later on that it was Josey’s birthday too, or we would have gotten her presents as well.
All the kids loved going to Urban Air, so as they requested, we went back for another round of ropes courses, ziplines and trampolines. We spent the entire day playing and running around. We ordered pizzas while we were there this time. Not half bad if you ask me. The kids wiped the pizzas out fast. All in all, it was another great experience at Urban Air.
We headed to Lebenon, MO for dinner at Tokyo, per Teagan’s request for his birthday dinner. Our group of 19 took up 2 hibbachi tables. The chef was hilarious and entertaining. Josey, Emma and Melissa were the only 3 to catch the food the chef tossed with their mouths. It was definitely a blast watching each of us, including the baby, attempt to catch flying food without using our hands. At the end of our meal, the servers brought out ice cream with birthday candles for our 3 birthday kids. We all sang happy birthday as Teagan, Peyton and Josey blew out their candles.
We ended our outing with Glow Bowling at Bowlmor Lanes RT 66 in Lebenon. This time we took up 4 Lanes. 2 Lanes for the 8 adults, 1 lane for our 2 little bowlers, and 1 Lanes for the kids that wanted to bowl. Most of the kids hung out in the arcade playing games. Again, Reese and I didn’t do as good as the others, but we still had fun.
We all headed back to our friend’s house to spend the night. Like all families, there was a squabble that resulted in us going home early. No family is perfect, and while it was disheartening to end the kids’ birthday weekend early, all the kids had fun while it lasted.
In conclusion, we all had a great time having fun as a family. While it wasn’t the perfect adventure, we made more memories that will last us a lifetime. So from our family to yours, have a magical and memorable day!
